Customer Spotlight: Skytop Lodge

Surrounded by 5,500 acres of pristine woodlands in the Pocono Mountains, Skytop Lodge is a resort destination that transports guests back in time with its vintage aesthetics and old-time vibes. Named a member of the Historic Hotels of America, Skytop Lodge preserves the estate’s natural beauty from when it was built in 1928. As beautiful in the summer as it is in the winter, Skytop’s breathtaking scenery, elegant fireplaces, timeless atmosphere, and abundance of activities welcome guests year-round for a one-of-a-kind stay. From weddings and family reunions to business conventions, guests of all generations and backgrounds are drawn to Skytop Lodge to experience time-honored traditions while creating their own.

With endless possibilities for relaxation and exploration, Skytop Lodge offers a variety of unique attractions that keep guests delightfully entertained, engaged, and always eager to return for more. No matter the season, Skytop provides weekly activities, from its beautiful 18-hole golf course, estate tour hayrides, archery, zip-lining, and rock climbing, to guided hikes, toasting marshmallows around campfires, and dog sledding with Siberian huskies. Skytop Lodge is also known for their special occasions, hosting Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas Day buffets, and fireworks and entertainment for New Year’s Eve. During the holiday season, Skytop’s pastry chefs sell holiday cookies and Danishes out of the life-size gingerbread house they create from scratch.

Skytop makes the customer experience its top priority and upholds the tradition of offering the Modified American Plan (MAP) that includes meals with the quoted hotel rate. If the thrilling adventures at Skytop Lodge don’t make guests hungry, seeing the vast array of food options certainly will. Skytop has seven distinct restaurants, from the Windsor dining room, a fine-dining option that aligns with the 1920’s vibe, to Lakeview that has a Mediterranean-inspired menu as well as house-made pasta. The Taproom, a casual speakeasy bistro, is also inspired by this festive era, offering classic pub fare and local libations. Skytop’s Executive Chef, Raymond Feist, claims the Taproom’s Crispy Brussels Sprouts made with honey-roasted peanuts, Calabrian chili peppers, and nuoccham (a trending Vietnamese condiment) is a top-selling signature item. During evening hours, guests can settle into a cozy chair by the fire and sip on a craft cocktail or glass of wine in the Library Lounge.

Skytop also caters to on-the-go occasions with eateries like The Market, a throwback to the “old corner drugstore” that offers milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, sandwiches, and snacks. Callaway’s (located between golf holes 9 and 10) makes for a great complement to golf outings with its light deli sandwiches, salads, and local beer. Last but not least, the Corner Roast is Skytop’s go-to coffee shop that serves fair trade, organic, locally roasted coffee beverages and fresh, house-made pastries.

Skytop Lodge sources numerous products from Maines including Markon® produce and top-quality meats from Indian Ridge Provisions. Maines has been a reliable partner to this grand hotel, especially in pressing times. Chef Raymond explained, “When our freezer went down this summer, Maines let us borrow a reefer truck trailer. They helped us without hesitation, brought a truck down as soon as we called, and let us use it for over two weeks.”

With over 90 years in business, Skytop has perfected the strategy of providing superior hospitality and unforgettable experiences. The tagline, “It’s in our nature,” only begins to express the infinite number of ways they make the customer experience exquisite every time. No matter what drives their motivation for a visit, guests can rely on Skytop Lodge for the ultimate getaway filled with incredible food, the serenity of nature, and endless adventure.
