Indian-Inspired Bourbon Eggnog Flip

Spice Up the Holidays

Today, eggnog is still considered the most traditional holiday cocktail. Since its birth in Britain, this creamy, spiked beverage has spread across continents. The familiar eggnog has seen dozens of regional variations, from bourbon-spiked in the south to beer-spiked in Germany. With customers looking for both beloved classics and globally-inspired flavors, eggnog is an ideal beverage to get creative with on your menu.

Garam masala is a ground spice mix frequently used in Indian cuisine. It commonly consists of cloves, coriander, cumin, black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Several of these spices are already familiar holiday flavors. Thus, incorporating Indian flavors allows for a unique eggnog that still carries flavors customers expect in a seasonal special. Try spiking eggnog with a garam masala infused rum. The recipe below compliments these flavors with coconut milk and sweetens it up with a honey cardamom simple syrup.
