  1. Over low heat and in a non-reactive sauce pan, bring the Sambal, vinegar, salt, sugar, garlic and ginger to a simmer.
  2. Simmer for 5 minutes or until it begins to thicken slightly.
  3. Combine the cornstarch and water in a small bowl and add to the sauce.
  4. Bring it back to a simmer and cook until it thickens and clarifies, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  5. Transfer to a non-reactive container and refrigerate until ready to use.
